Damir Alihodžić acquired doctoral degree

Damir Alihodžić, director of the Agency for Halal Quality Certification, has completed his Ph.D. today at the Faculty of Technology of the University of Tuzla (UNTZ). The topic of the doctoral dissertation was "Validation of Rapid Qualitative Tests in the Analysis of Food Quality and Origin".

The Doctoral Committee has consisted of: dr. Drago Šubarić, professor at the “JJ Strosmayer Faculty of Food Technology” in Osijek - as the president of the Committee, dr. Benjamin Muhamedbegović, associate professor at the Faculty of Technology, University of Tuzla - member, and dr. Amel Selimović, associate professor at the Faculty of Technology, University of Tuzla - member.

Mr. Alihodzic’s the doctoral dissertation was attended among others, by the Mufti of Tuzla, dr. Vahid Fazlović, director of the Media Center of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Amir Sakić, director of the Behram-bey madrasa in Tuzla, dr. Ahmed Hatunić, Minister of Education and Science of the Tuzla Canton, dr. Ahmed Omerović, director of the Institute for Social and Religious Research, dr. Šefko Sulejmanović, director of CROPS, Mevludin Joldić, dean of the Faculty of Technology of the University of Tuzla, prof. Ph.D. Sead Ćatić, professors from the Faculty of Technology, dr. Ramiz Salkić, colleagues from the Agency for Halal Quality Certification, friends, family and relatives.

Damir Alihodžić was born in Moćevići, municipality of Srebrenica, where he completed his primary education. He graduated from the High School of Electrical Engineering in Tuzla, graduated from the Faculty of Technology of the University of Tuzla in 2007, and received his master's degree in 2012 from the Department of Food Engineering.

He is employed in the Agency for Halal Quality Certification of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the position of director. He is the co-author of four books and seven scientific and professional papers in magazines and anthologies.

He participated in numerous scientific and professional meetings in the field of food industry and standardization.

Participated in the EU Tempus, EDU FOOD, Be promoted and IPA projects, and in the organization of the international symposium "Food for Health" and the Congress on beekeeping and bee products.

He is the assistant editor of the magazine "Food in Health and Disease".

He is one of the founders and president of the Assembly of the Association for Nutrition and Dietetics "Food for Health".

At the University of Pharmacy and Technology in Tuzla, he was engaged as an external associate at the undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the curriculum for practical work.

He is a member of several technical committees of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (OIC/SMIIC), and the technical committee for food of the Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He is the vice-president of AHAC, the international Association of halal certification bodies.

He is married and father of two children.
